While we do of course submit to the mighty buzword overlords, we also have a job to do and don't always have time to cut ourselves on "bleeding edge" stuff. Having said that v2 of tcdb (the real one) will be using several m$ technologies. Now personally I don't like it that much, but at times I use whatever skill set is available of those who are doing the grunt work. At this time I've got some people I have to convert to the true ways. That's the exact reason v2 will be initially using .NET stuff and m$ sql server. Don't worry we have every intention of porting it to "real" open source technologies later.
